Strongly Interacting Dark Matter from Sp(4) Gauge Theory

چکیده

The stable hadronic bound states in a hidden new non-Abelian gauge sector provide interesting candidates for strongly-interacting Dark Matter (DM). A particular example are theories which DM is made up of dark pions set the relic abundance through self-annihilation. One simplest realizations Sp(4) c theory with two Dirac fermions. We discuss its mesonic multiplets degenerate and non-degenerate fermions, construct low-energy effective present lattice results pseudoscalar mesons vector mesons.

Strongly-interacting Fermions from a higher-dimensional Unified Gauge Theory

The method of coset-space dimensional reduction is employed in order to proceed from a gauged E8 × E ′ 8 unified theory defined in 10 dimensions to 4 dimensions. The resulting theory comprises the Standard Model along with a strongly-interacting fermion sector which breaks the electroweak symmetry dynamically at the right scale. e-mail:[email protected] e-mail:[email protected]

Thermally generated gauge singlet scalars as self-interacting dark matter.

We show that a gauge singlet scalar S, with a coupling to the Higgs doublet of the form lambda(S)S+SH+H and with the S mass entirely generated by the Higgs expectation value, has a thermally generated relic density Omega(S)approximately equal to 0.3 if m(S)approximately equal to (2.9-10.5) (Omega(S)/0.3)(1/5)(h/0.7)(2/5) MeV. Remarkably, this is very similar to the range [m(S) = (6.6-15.4)eta(2...

Self-Interacting Dark Matter

Spergel and Steinhardt have recently proposed the concept of dark matter with strong self-interactions as a means to address numerous discrepancies between observations of dark matter halos on subgalactic scales and the predictions of the standard collisionless dark matter picture. We review the motivations for this scenario and discuss some recent, successful numerical tests. We also discuss t...

States of Strongly Interacting Matter

I discuss the phase structure of strongly interacting matter at high temperatures and densities, as predicted by statistical QCD, and consider in particular the nature of the transition of hot hadronic matter to a plasma of deconfined quarks and gluons. To speak about quark matter in a meeting dedicated to Heisenberg is somewhat problematic. In one of his last talks, Heisenberg noted: " There e...
